The recent trend found in students, that has been shown in a survey results done on 2000 students is that: 40% of these 2000 students believed that Australian degrees will give them the lead against Us and UK graduates.Survey results also showed that out of these 2000 students, 40% of those who were graduates had planned to work in Australia and only 13% had shown interest only for immigration.

"Students who come here from their tertiary education make ideal migrants and we should be encouraging them to spend some time working here after they graduate", said Tony Pollock, chief executive of IDP.
International Education Association of Australia’s executive director, Denis Murray said:

"it is well past time for the state and federal governments to say how the strategy would be implemented and who would be responsible for it."

He also said: "Consultations with the sector took place almost a year ago and details are still not announced."
The reason behind this delay is known to be that the governments are struggling to fund the strategy.
Denis Murray also said that “this is a sorely needed investment in social cohesion, particularly given the socially divisive trends that emerged during the recent election campaign."
Australian Universities are striving to find a strategic prime ministerial statement on international education to coincide with next year’s 25th anniversary of international education in Australia.
